    Deptford, London (UK) 2016

Exhibition during Urban Photo Fest: 03 Nov 2016 to 15 Nov 2016, corner of Deptford High St. and Frankham St., SE8 London | Artist Talk: Sunday, 06 November 2016 | 10:00-10:45

Deptford with its dockyard and industrial history used to be the home to workmen and their families, living close to their workplace and shaping their neighbourhood. As the area is developing and renting prices increase, workshops and the people working there have to move elsewhere. This body of work portrays the last remaining workers in Deptford. Workers – once so present in Deptford, are now mostly hidden with their workshops in back roads, back yards or under railway arches. For the exhibition pictures of local workers are pasted directly to the wall. Just as the workers are an inseparable part of Deptford’s history, for a limited time the pictures become part of the built structure of the area.
